The river bottom just north and west of my home is an ideal habitat for all kinds of water fowl. It is not uncommon to drive down the road and see several hundred geese in the stubble fields. In pairs, in tens, in hundreds, the Canadian geese come to the stubble feeds to feed. Since I found little drama and excitement in the fields themselves, I decided to pay attention to the sky and the clouds. The geese seem to feel safe in these wide open fields where they can see a mile in any direction.
